Braintree, MA Campus Leadership
Julia Thorp
School Director
Julia finds the greatest joy in watching children discover new things and grow in confidence each day at The Gardner School of Braintree. She loves those moments when something “clicks” for a child — when their eyes light up with understanding or they run to share a proud accomplishment. Those glimpses of growth and joy are what inspire her daily.
Since joining The Gardner School in August 2024 as Assistant Director, Julia has focused on creating meaningful connections with families and teachers to build a supportive, caring school community. She believes every child deserves to feel valued for their effort, creativity, and individuality, and she makes it a priority to celebrate both big and small achievements.
She is EEC Director I Certified and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography from Parsons The New School for Design.
“It’s those everyday moments of connection and growth that make our school feel like one big family,” she says.
Jordyn Richards
Assistant Director
Jordyn’s favorite moments at The Gardner School of Braintree are the joyful ones that happen throughout the day — hearing children excitedly call her name, watching them proudly try something new, or helping them work through big feelings with encouragement and care. Those small but meaningful moments are what inspired her to grow from the classroom into school leadership.
Since joining TGS in January 2025, Jordyn has built strong relationships with children, families, and staff through her work as an Infant Teacher, Curriculum Coordinator, and now Assistant Director. She believes children thrive when they feel included, supported, and celebrated for who they are. Jordyn loves creating an environment filled with smiles, laughter, curiosity, and connection where every child feels safe to learn and grow.
She holds her CDA, Lead Teacher certifications in Infants/Toddlers and Preschool, and Director Certification.
“It’s the little moments of encouragement and connection that help children feel truly supported,” she says.
